Vance Joy, off Taylor Swift tour, riding ‘Riptide’

When he arrived at a university in Australia, he also was in the midst of a career in Australian rules football before turning his focus toward his legal studies. Then the music started happening.

Then, just as he was within sight of becoming a lawyer, he was struck by a songwriting muse that had been simmering since he started playing guitar at age 14.

Within two years, his first single, “Riptide,” was a hit in Australia, began climbing charts around the world, and even Taylor Swift was covering the song in a BBC performance.

Now, Joy finds himself celebrating the release of his debut full-length album, “Dream Your Life Away,” by playing for the biggest crowds in his short career as the coveted opening act on Swift’s “1989” world tour. Vance Joy tickets are available here.
